Botox For Crow's Feet: lines around the eyes

at Harley Street, London

BOTOX is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. BOTOX works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, hence reducing the muscle movements that cause wrinkles.

Crows feet are defined as skin wrinkles that begin to form outside the corners of your eyes as you age. Crows feet are also known as “laugh lines” or “character lines,” but these terms generally refer to the inevitable signs of ageing that first show up in the finer, more wrinkle-prone areas of the skin.

Crows feet lines may form subtly over time, but become more visible when you express emotions such as laughing, frowning or grimacing.
The main reason why “crow’s feet” lines are more noticeable than other facial wrinkles is that the skin around your eyes is much thinner.

Crows Feet Treatment with BOTOX

Before the procedure, your face will be cleaned of all makeup by Rupesh. Rupesh will ask you to contract and relax the crows feet area (close your eyes tight and then relax). This allows Rupesh to mark out the specific area with a white pencil for accurate injections.

Botox is injected directly around your crow’s feet with fine needle. Around three to five small injections are given around each eye. Since crow’s feet cover a small area of the face, the treatment itself will only take a few minutes. The procedure may last longer if you opt to combine other treatment methods with Botox injections for crows feet.

Rupesh offers a "free" touch up after two weeks. This is so important because it means that Rupesh is using the least amount necessary on your face. After two weeks, you can determine if you need any more.

Is Botox Injections Painful near the eyes?

Any injection can hurt, but the needles used for Botox injections are very small, so pain is usually minimal. The eye area where crows feet are formed can be numbed with a topical anesthetic cream or cold pack 10-20 minutes before the injections are given, so you may not feel much pain, if any.
