How Do Lip Fillers Work?
As we age, we lose collagen and elastin in our lips, both of which help us look youthful. Lip Fillers restore that lost volume, smoothing deep lines and folds.

Dermal Fillers we have are Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based. HA is a naturally occurring substance that is found in our skin, helping keep it hydrated and plump. Our Juvederm family of fillers, our Restylane products, and Teoxane are HA based. The effects of these fillers are seen immediately.

Which Dermal Fillers do you use?
We have a choice of three Lip Fillers we prefer:
1. Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler with a high affinity for water, hence retaining moisture (plumper lips). It has a high G prime [elasticity], which means it has a great ability to give definition and lift to the lips, and it has a high viscosity, which means it maintains its shape. The lips are natural looking and slightly more firm to touch.
2. Juvéderm Volbella is one of the newest of the Lip Fillers. It has the lowest concentration of hyaluronic acid and the lowest affinity to water. It gives a subtle volume augmentation that is soft and natural. It has a new Vycross technology which increases its longevity by mixing different lengths of hyaluronic acids chains, increasing its stability. Expect to see results for up to a year.
3. Teoxane is a lip enhancement dermal filler spefically designed to harmonize lip contours and volume. With its ideal elastic profile, Teoxane is specifically adapted to the mobility of the lips. Teoxane can be used to reshape the lips and increase lip volume whilst treating lip hydration and mouth wrinkles.

What Happens At My Consultation?
Our Lip filler journey begin with a consultation with Rupesh. During that time, Rupesh will evaluate your areas of concern and review your medical history. (Always fully disclose your medical history. While the risk from fillers is minimal, certain medications, allergies, or conditions can effect your results). Together, you and Rupesh will develop a treatment plan for your Lips which will work within your budget and your Lip concerns.

Before the treatment, the Lip area will be cleaned. While many fillers contain lidocaine, you may opt for a topical anesthetic or a Dental Block. Once you are comfortable, Rupesh will begin injecting the product in and around your lips. He may use a needle technique or a cannula depending on the results you want to acheive. After treatment, some patients experience mild bruising and swelling, but these effects are temporary and should subside within days.

How are Lip Fillers Administered?
Initially the lips are numbed via topical anaesthetic or via a dental block and the area is cleansed. Rupesh uses an injection technique where he administers small droplets of lip filler in both top and bottom lip. Depending on what is required Rupesh may also accentuate cupid’s bow. He also loves using a cannula to define and volumise Lips. Whatever method he decides to use, he will always maintain a natural appearance.

How Long Do Lip Fillers Last?
The length of time Lip Fillers lasts depends on the individual.

The HA filler ( Juvederm, Restylane & Teoxane) typically tend to last between four and six months.

However if you're thinner, you metabolise faster and the solution gets broken down quicker - so they don't last as long. The same is true if you are lead a very active lifestyle with lots of gym, running and excersises.
